Home made Pizza
Don't forget Home Made Pizza when planning your meals!
I am guilty.
Guilty of forgetting my friend the Pizza.
Whilst its a cheap family meal, Pizza has been off the menu at our house for some time...........
On the whole its not a bad meal the family frozen pizza, but its the bread base that makes it a bit of a no no in our house so its disappeared off the menu.
However theres no real reason for this, home made pizza base is very very easy to make and very cheap to make, you only need to allow yourself an extra hour to make base and give it time to rise.
Make the dough base by combining 250g of flour with one sachet (7g) of dried yeast, and a pinch of salt.
In a measuring beaker combine 100g of tepid water with a tablespoon of olive oil and a dessertspoon of honey.
Mix the water in to the flour to form a dough, and then kneed for a few minutes.
Return the dough to the bowl, cover and place in a warm place for thirty minutes to rise.
Roll out in to a rough circle turning the edges over to give a slight 'lip' and a more perfect circle.
Preheat the oven to 220C
Finish the pizza with passata on the base, and then topping of your choice.
We had caramalised red onion, red pepper, sundried tomatoes, black olives, and goats cheese.
The pizza will take about twenty minutes to cook, finish with some rocket and serve fresh out of the oven.
